Postdoctoral Position in Cognitive Psychology at the University of Waterloo 

Applications are invited for a postdoctoral position in the labs of Dr. Colin MacLeod [https://uwaterloo.ca/memory-attention-cognition-lab] and Dr. Evan Risko [https://uwaterloo.ca/cognition-and-natural-behaviour-laboratory] in the Department of Psychology, University of Waterloo, Waterloo, Ontario, Canada.

The postdoctoral fellow will join two vibrant and supportive labs and an exciting departmental community of cognitive scientists working in cognitive psychology [https://uwaterloo.ca/psychology/research/research-areas/cognitive-psychology], cognitive neuroscience [https://uwaterloo.ca/psychology/research/research-areas/cognitive-neuroscience-psychology], developmental psychology [https://uwaterloo.ca/psychology/research/research-areas/developmental-psychology], and social psychology [https://uwaterloo.ca/psychology/research/research-areas/social-psychology]. Dr. MacLeod’s and Dr. Risko’s labs work on a broad array of topics in cognitive psychology including memory, attention, effort, education/learning, metacognition, and applied cognition (see websites for lists of recent publications). We are seeking qualified individuals to collaborate on the development of new and exciting projects in any (or all) of these areas. Research tools available in the labs include eye tracking, psychophysiological recording, video recording, and virtual reality. In addition to conducting and disseminating research, the successful candidate will also have opportunities to mentor graduate and undergraduate student researchers. The successful candidate will have a Ph.D. in Cognitive Psychology or closely related area, a strong record of research productivity, strong technical skills (e.g., statistics, programming), and a demonstrated ability to work independently and as a team member.  Expertise in computational modelling and in the research tools available in the labs (i.e., eye tracking, psychophysiological recording, virtual reality) will be considered a strength.
