Term Faculty Position 

Psychology, University of San Francisco 

Job Summary: 

The Department of Psychology at the University of San Francisco invites applications for a one year, full-time term Assistant Professor position to begin August 2021, contingent upon funding  approval. This position seeks candidates who have a strong commitment to undergraduate  teaching and demonstrated success in working with diverse student populations. Specialty area  in Psychology: Open. As this is a one-year position, assistance with moving expenses is not  available. 

Job Responsibilities: 

We seek a motivated candidate to teach diversity-related courses, such as African American  Psychology, Multicultural Psychology, Asian American Psychology, Psychology of Gender, and/or  Psychology of Sexuality. Candidates would also be expected to teach some courses from among  the following: Research Design, Theories of Personality, General Psychology, in addition to  courses drawn from the applicant’s area of expertise. The standard teaching load for this position  is four 4-unit courses per semester.  

Minimum Qualifications

University teaching experience; evidence of a strong commitment to teaching; evidence of research and scholarship; a strong commitment to undergraduate mentorship; Ph.D. in Psychology or a related field, or advancement to candidacy (ABD), by August 2021; experience  and willingness to work in a culturally diverse environment; and an understanding of and  commitment to support the Jesuit mission of the University. Recent PhDs and those from  underrepresented groups are strongly encouraged to apply.
