Assistant or Associate Professor of Linguistics and Cognitive Science - Pomona College
The Department of Linguistics and Cognitive Science at Pomona College invites applications for an Assistant or Associate Professor to begin Fall 2025. We seek candidates with expertise in computational and/or experimental linguistics. The area of specialization is open to any subfield of linguistics. Candidates will provide evidence of inclusive excellence in teaching, a productive record of research, and an ability to involve undergraduates in research. Associate-level candidates should also demonstrate administrative experience, since a hire at the Associate level will be expected to serve in department administration (Department Chair and/or Coordinator of the Linguistics section of the department) soon after appointment. The ideal candidate will have experience working with students from diverse backgrounds and a demonstrated commitment to improving higher education for underrepresented students. The teaching load is two courses per semester.
Candidates must have earned a Ph.D. by the start of the position.
