Two Assistant Professor of Psychology Positions at Appalachian State University

The Department of Psychology at Appalachian State University invites applications for two 9-month tenure track faculty positions in Psychology to start August 1, 2023. Candidates who will advance diversity, equity, inclusion, and justice through their teaching, research (as appropriate), and/or service are strongly encouraged to apply.

The first position is at the rank of Assistant Professor, with expertise in Learning and/or Cognition. The candidate will be expected to teach an undergraduate course in Learning, in addition to other courses according to need and/or interest. The area of specialization within Learning and/or Cognition is open (e.g., human or nonhuman, applied or theoretical). The second position is at the rank of Assistant Professor, with specialization in Biological Psychology/Behavioral Neuroscience. The candidate should have experience with animal models in behavioral neuroscience. The Department of Psychology has 38 full-time faculty members (31 tenure-track) with graduate programs in Experimental Psychology, Clinical Psychology, School Psychology, and Industrial-Organizational Psychology/Human Resource Management. There are approximately 1400 undergraduate majors and 80 full-time graduate students.
